Hey 02:55
I came to the city full of fright I came to the city never thought I’d make it From the morning to the night And the morning had never felt so sacred Hey Beneath the morning lies a day I know the money’s not okay but I’ll find some You won’t be alone and we will find our peace of mind The streets of New York were full of lights Full of lights and I felt so elated I didn’t feel the cold at night I was hoping a new life would start there Hey Beneath the morning lies a day I know the money’s not okay but I’ll find some You won’t be alone and we will find our peace of mind

God on a Bus 03:54
I was going to sing the blues And the words were coming loud and clear I was feeling insecure Then in a second I just felt at ease And it’s all because of you You plug my ears when I don’t want to hear And when the world is all blues You lift me up and I just want you here I was turning on the news They dragged me out and then they brought me here And though the holes were rather small They had to call a fire engineer And it’s all because of you You plug my ears when I don’t want to hear And when the world is all blues You lift me up and I just want you here Hurry up get on your way Before I drown in my sorrow Though it keeps on getting deeper every day I used to think that I was strong I used to think I could make it Now it’s getting so much more than I can take Get on your way Get on your way

Here’s another song about my little girl In case you didn’t notice she rules my world With a velvet fist and in case that you missed it She’s the girl with the sun in her eyes I’m feeling out of focus on this cloudy day I’m feeling that the sun is slipping away In the dephts of time, so here I’ll wait For the girl with the sun in her eyes Does she really love me? She does not say Is she thinking of me in every way? I can tell by a look, by a wink in her eye I can tell by the way that she smiles Is she thinking of me when she awakes? Is she thinking of me every day? Is she thinking of me, waiting for the moment to come?

I’m going to the city Though it’s cold outside I’m tired of the country Of this countryside Will the train ‘round the bend take me where I want to I’m tired of standing like a scarecrow tonight Licking up speed and drinking Mai Tais We’re going to hit the street for some loving tonight And we ain’t gonna rush it gonna ride it so slow Pop down some pills and up to heaven we’ll go The man at the door Won’t let me inside He’ll kick my head in Till I’m tired of the fight Will the train ‘round the bend take me where I want to I’m tired of waiting for a cab in the night Licking up speed and drinking Mai Tais We’re going to hit the street for some loving tonight And we ain’t gonna rush it gonna ride it so slow Pop down some pills and up to heaven we’ll go I’m going to the city Though it’s cold outside I’m tired of the country I’m tired of these ties Will the train ‘round the bend take me where I want to I’m tired of looking for the meaning of life Licking up speed and drinking Mai Tais We’re going to hit the street for some loving tonight And we ain’t gonna rush it gonna ride it so slow Pop down some pills and up to heaven we’ll go

I’m gonna find it - home again I’m gonna stand up and go away I’m gonna quit this shit and begin my life today I’m gonna toss these chains and begin to breathe again I’m gonna step up for a change Got so many things to rearrange I’m gonna pack my stuff and get on a plane to Spain I’m gonna run so fast I’m never looking back again My old failures won’t drag me down I want to dance to another sound I’m feeling full of life I’m not giving up again This world is full of crap I’m not going to look away I’m gonna find it - home again I’m gonna stand up and go away I’m gonna leave this town and forget these fields of grey I’m gonna settle the score and begin to breathe again

Wash 04:11
You thought your sins would fade away Down in the depths of some forgotten day You thought your life was yours to keep You thought your victory was complete And now who’s going to watch your back You might as well just fade to black You bang your head against the wall You thought you were the smartest of them all

Ride into the sunrise That’s slowly turning to day You and I, we’re together No more running away We’re nothing but starlight Bodies get in our way Run away from these awful times Keep on running away And that’s the only way to die Way beyond the city lights I ride You’re one in a billion Nobody can take that away And when we’re together Time keeps flowing away Their life is a straight line Ours is changing all day Run away from these awful times Keep on running away And that’s the only way to die Way beyond the city lights I ride

I thought that I could face another sunday morning I hoped that the sun would give me some loving And I’m running upstairs feeling unwell I smoke another cigarette because you’re not there I thought you wouldn’t be leaving me without a warning Packing your things and my life in the process This tension I feel is with me all the time And it won’t go away with a bottle of wine Been thinking of you most of the time Dreaming of you all day and the nights Never thought you would leave me and destroy me this way I’m feeling so alone I’m dying every day And here I am, bracing myself for the night I thought that I could face another friday night Just entering our room it gives me the frights My footsteps resound on the hardwood floor And I can’t help myself I’m closing the door You said we weren’t meant to be right from the start I felt that I was torn in two when we were apart Faking a smile when you said “I don’t care to hear you complain that I am never there” Been thinking of you most of the time Dreaming of you all day and the nights Never thought you would leave me and destroy me this way I’m feeling so alone I’m dying every day And here I am, bracing myself for the night

I’m stuck on a feeling I can’t explain Don’t know what it is but it’s wrecking my brain Who’s picking up the pieces when the summer is gone? Who’s going to turn the pages? Now you’re alone I went to the sea the water was cold Every year that goes by it makes me feel old Who’s picking up the pieces when the summer is gone? Who’s going to turn the pages? Now you’re alone There’ll be no more waves for you to ride The only things left will be the moon and the sky I went to the sea the sand was still hot I just keep on turning into something I’m not Who’s picking up the pieces when the summer is gone? Who’s going to turn the pages? Now you’re alone There’ll be no more waves for you to ride The only things left will be the moon and the sky

Going out it’s the dawn of the day I’m more than alive I’m awake now The sun is shining after the rain I’m more than alive I’m awake now I’m singing this song it’s always the same Damn tune every day I’ll be going out of my way As soon as you ask me to wait now The river in time is never the same I’m more than alive I’m awake now We’re bathing in water that’s flowing away I’m more than alive I’m awake now I’m singing this song it’s always the same Damn tune every day I’ll be going out of my way Sitting on the lawn and laughing away Come on out it’s a beautiful day I’m more than alive I’m awake now The sun is never going to shine this way again I’m more than alive I’m awake now I’m singing this song it’s always the same Damn tune every day I’ll be going out of my way As soon as you ask me to wait now
